Loofah Sponge

Luffa aegyptiaca is botanically a vegetable although a BEAUTIFUL Flowering Vine! Which grows fast once established. Each flower only last for a day but brings an array of happy yellow into the garden. Not to mention Bumblebees! 🐝 This is a VERY aggressive and fast growing vine. You must make way for it. I did grow it on my patio this year and used a 25 gallon grow bag. I used a trellis to support and train it. If placed in the ground you'll want to give it lots of room and somewhere to climb. Therefore your fruits can hang. Luffa plants needs 120 days of warmth before it starts to produce fruit. The seeds listed here are from the plant in the pictures.
